Overview
The successful candidate will have at least ten (10) years of progressively more responsible experience directing, managing and supervision of complex IT software development, integration, or modernization projects.  The GIS Lead/System Architect must be capable of leading projects that involve the successful management of teams composed of information management professionals who have been involved in analysis, design, integration, testing, documenting, modernization and implementing IT and/or geospatial technologies. This is a hands-on position working collaboratively with a senior management team that is very engaged, open, and encourages employee growth.

Key Characteristics and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated experience with the design and development of geospatial applications ranging from server products of ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, ArcSDE, and Oracle Spatial along with the desktop products of ArcGIS Desktop.
  • Experience developing with web mapping products including; Bing Maps, google Maps, Google Earth API, ArcGIS API for Java Script and ArcGIS Rest API.
  • Expertise integrating geospatial web services including; ArcGIS Server REST and SOAP, WMS, WFS, KML and GEORSS feeds in web applications and integrating remote web services (spatial and non-spatial) with geo analytical services.
  • Expertise with the development and Integration of GIS widgets and services based on ArcGIS API for JavaScript within a web based application.                                                                                                                    
  • Ensures conformance with program task schedules and costs.
  • Develops and enforces work standards.
  • Supervises and directs staff on a daily basis.
  • Excellent verbal, written, customer presentation and organizational skills.

Required Education:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field from an accredited program with at least ten (10) years of experience.

Additional Required/Desired Experience:

  • Extensive experience with geospatial technologies in a lead/architecture role.
